National Investment Bank PLC (NIB) has marked a significant milestone in its transformation journey with the dual launch of the NIB Mobile App and the Ubuntu Cultural Change Initiative at a colourful ceremony in Accra.

The event was chaired by HRM Odeneho Dr. Affram Brempong III, Omanhene of the Suma Traditional Area and Member of the Council of State, and drew an impressive gathering of dignitaries, partners, customers, and staff—signaling the Bank’s renewed commitment to digital innovation and exceptional customer experience.
Representing the Special Guest of Honour, the Minister for Finance, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, was Dr. Patrick Momo, Chief Director at the Ministry of Finance. He commended NIB for aligning strongly with the government’s vision for a digitally empowered, 24-hour economy.

The Bank of Ghana, a pivotal partner in NIB’s ongoing reforms, was represented by Mrs. Joyce Adu Ntim.
The official launch of the NIB Mobile App was performed by the Deputy Minister for Communications, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Hon. Mohammed Sukparu, who described it as a timely contribution to Ghana’s digital acceleration agenda. He lauded NIB for demonstrating leadership in leveraging technology to enhance financial inclusion and customer convenience.
The launch brought together top leaders from across the financial and technology sectors, including Managing Directors and Chief Executives from partner banks, along with the Managing Director of eTranzact Ghana, NIB’s strategic collaborator in developing the new mobile application. Their presence underscored strong industry confidence in NIB’s modernization drive.
In his address, Managing Director Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria described the double launch as “a defining moment in NIB’s turnaround story.” He noted that the NIB Mobile App places fast, secure, and seamless banking directly in the hands of customers—allowing them to open accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, buy airtime, and access real-time services anytime, anywhere.
The ceremony also marked the unveiling of the Ubuntu Cultural Change Initiative, a values-based programme aimed at deepening service excellence, strengthening internal cohesion, and cultivating a truly customer-first culture across NIB. The first cohort of Ubuntu Champions was formally introduced and led in a solemn pledge by Ambassador Mussie Hailu, URI Africa Global, who served as the event’s Keynote Speaker. He charged the champions to embody humility, empathy, mutual respect, and the Golden Rule in all interactions—both with customers and with colleagues—as NIB ushers in a new era of human-centered service.

The ceremony drew enthusiastic participation from customers across sectors—including SMEs, traders, and long-standing corporate and public-sector clients—many of whom expressed excitement about NIB’s new digital direction.
The double launch aligns strongly with NIB’s strategic theme: “Sustaining the Gains through Enhanced Digital Transformation, Asset Creation, and Excellent Customer Experience.”
With the rollout of the NIB Mobile App and the implementation of the Ubuntu initiative, NIB reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a stronger, smarter, and more customer-centered institution—ready to serve the evolving needs of Ghana’s financial landscape.
