In a powerful show of institutional solidarity and strategic collaboration, the Managing Director of National Investment Bank PLC (NIB), Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria, led a high-level delegation from the Bank on a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohunu, at the Ghana Police Headquarters. The meeting, which was also graced by COP Iddi Lansah Seidu Director of Welfare, served as a platform to reaffirm NIB’s deep commitment to supporting the operational and welfare needs of the Ghana Police Service as the Bank continues its upward trajectory of recovery and transformation. Chief Dr. Zakaria expressed confidence in the IGP’s leadership at a pivotal time in national security. “Under your guidance, we expect the Ghana Police Service to reach new heights of professionalism and public trust,” he remarked. He emphasized that NIB is now well-capitalized and stable—operating with a positive capital adequacy ratio—and is ready to deepen its partnership with the Service. “While we are proud to manage the welfare funds of the Service, we believe we can do even more. We are keen to manage your provident fund and to provide project fund management and affordable scheme loans tailored specifically for your officers,” he proposed. In response, the IGP warmly welcomed the MD and his team, noting that the Service was very much open to building stronger synergies with institutions like NIB. He disclosed that although the Ghana Police Service currently does not operate a provident fund scheme, there are active plans to establish one—taking a cue from the Ghana Armed Forces. “I must commend NIB for the stellar management of the Ghana Armed Forces provident fund scheme. We are watching closely and we are impressed,” the IGP said. “We will constitute a technical team to explore the feasibility of setting up a provident fund scheme for the Service, and NIB will be top of mind as the preferred manager,” he added. He also applauded NIB’s remarkable progress and transformation under Chief Dr. Zakaria’s leadership, expressing optimism about future collaborations that could benefit both institutions. The visit concluded on a warm and optimistic note, with the Managing Director expressing his heartfelt appreciation to the IGP and his team for the reception and fruitful dialogue. “We at NIB believe in the Ghana Police Service. We are not just looking for clients—we are building partnerships that matter for the country,” he said. This visit marks another milestone in NIB’s stakeholder engagement drive as the Bank positions itself as the financial institution of choice for national development and security agencies across the country.
