Traditional Leaders Commend NIB PLC CEO Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria for Transformational Leadership

A distinguished delegation of traditional leaders from Ghana and Burkina Faso paid a courtesy visit to the CEO of the National Investment Bank (NIB) PLC, Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria, to commend him for his transformational leadership and contributions to national and regional development. The delegation was led by Buipewura Jinapor II, Vice President of the National House of Chiefs. Other members were Kongwura Jimkurige I, Paramount Chief of Kong and Member of the National House of Chiefs, and Bifatey II, Overlord of the Lobi people of Gaoua in the South-West Region of Burkina Faso. The visit reflected deep appreciation for his role in promoting economic growth, leadership excellence, and cultural unity across borders.

Welcoming the delegation, Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria highlighted NIB PLC’s remarkable financial turnaround under his leadership, with total deposits growing significantly by over 57% enlarged balance sheet in 2025 with a 109% growth. He revealed that the bank recorded a historic profit with about 8,300% growth over the previous year. The CEO further outlined the bank’s expansion and investment strength, coupled with a significant increase in staff strength driven by improved performance. He also disclosed NIB PLC’s 25 percent shareholding in Nestlé Ghana Ltd and other key businesses such as Accra City Hotel and Nexans Kabel Metal Ghana Ltd, underscoring NIB PLC’s broad impact on the economy.


On behalf of the delegation, Buipewura Jinapor II called for stronger unity among West African chiefs and greater involvement of traditional authorities in economic development. In response, Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria expressed gratitude for their support and reaffirmed NIB PLC’s commitment to the proposed initiatives, which include the Kano Chamber of Commerce and the Savanna Farmer Brigade. He concluded by emphasizing discipline, excellence, and the reward of hard work as core values guiding the bank’s future.
