Dr. Samuel A. Kwokem

Dr. Samuel Apewe Kwokem, is the Chief Compliance Officer for National Investment Bank PLC. He is an accomplished finance professional with over two and half decades of experience in banking and financial services, with core expertise in finance, credit, risk management, banking operations, corporate finance, financial engineering, corporate strategy and advisory. He previously served as, Head, Compliance and AMLRO, Zonal Head, for the Northern, Savanna, North East, Upper East and West Regions where he led the setup and operations of the Zonal Office.Prioir to that, he was branch manager for Osu and Spintex branches.

Dr Kwokem began his banking career at Agricultural Development Bank as a credit officer, moving on to become operations manager and branch manager for four branches.

He holds a Ph.D. in Endogenous Development Finance, with a concentration on Private Finance and Local Enterprise Development, from the University for Development Studies (Tamale), MSc in Financial Risk Management, from the University of Ghana Business School (Legon), MBA in Banking and Finance from PGSM(France),Msc in Economics with Informatics from Ghana Communication Technology University(GCTU) to be obtained, June 2026 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Resource Development from the University of Ghana (Legon).

Samuel is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (GH)FCIB, fellow Chartered Institute of Professional Financial Managers (UK)FCIPFM, member, Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (USA)CAMS, Chartered Institute of Cost Management Accountants (CICMA) and a Certified Risk Analyst (USA).
