Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe is a highly accomplished financial markets specialist, investment strategist, and public sector governance professional with over two decades of experience in treasury management, banking, capital markets, and executive leadership. His vast and dynamic career spans roles in top-tier financial institutions across West Africa, with a distinguished track record of delivering growth, managing complex portfolios, and contributing to policy and institutional transformation.
Dr. Ekow Kwainoe also serves as an Executive Director of Enoo Mutaku Company Ltd., where he leads the organization's strategic planning, operational management, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. He previously held senior positions in Ghana's banking sector, including Chief Investment Officer at Tesah Capital, Head of Trading and Acting head Treasury Sales and Trading at Fidelity Bank, Director of Rates and FX Standard Chartered Bank Gh and Acting Head Trading for Standard Chartered Bank in Nigeria. His expertise has been instrumental in expanding Eurobond trading, pioneering structured transactions, and driving revenue growth across treasury operations.
He began his banking career at SG-SSB Bank (now Societe Generale Ghana) as a Forex Dealer and later joined Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, where he rose through the ranks to ultimately became a Director and acted as Head of FX Trading for the West Africa region. Over the years, he has built strong global networks, led international roadshows, and promoted Ghanaian and African financial assets to investors worldwide.
Dr. Ekow Kwainoe holds a PhD in Public Administration awarded by CUFCE, an MBA in Finance from GIMPA, and a BSc in Administration (Accounting) from Central University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at NIBS. He also holds certifications from the Ghana Stock Exchange, the ACI Financial Markets Association, and various international training programs in treasury, risk, and derivatives from institutions in Hong Kong, the UK, and beyond.
A committed leader and contributor to financial sector development, Dr. Ekow Kwainoe served as President of ACI Ghana (Financial Markets Association) from 2013 to 2015, and served as a Board Member of ACI International. He is currently the Board Chairman of Ekumfi Royals Football Club and remains active in public service and political engagement, having contested parliamentary primaries and held party leadership roles.
Dr. Ekow Kwainoe is passionate about knowledge sharing and leadership development, regularly delivering lectures and presentations globally on treasury operations and financial market trends. His extensive expertise and strategic insight make him a valuable asset to the transformation agenda of National Investment Bank PLC.
