Dr. Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi is an accomplished Obstetrician-Gynaecologist, medical educator, and former Eastern Regional Minister of Ghana, with a distinguished career spanning clinical medicine, public service, and community development.
He holds a medical degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK), and the International Family Planning Fellowship Program in Michigan, USA. His medical practice has been dedicated to improving women's health, with a focus on maternal care, reproductive health, and advanced surgical procedures. Within Ghana's medical community, Dr. Apea-Kubi is highly regarded for his expertise and compassionate care.
In addition to his clinical contributions, he has served as a lecturer at the University of Ghana Medical School, where he played a pivotal role in mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals and strengthening medical education through practical training and academic excellence.
Dr. Apea-Kubi's commitment to national development extends into public service. As Eastern Regional Minister from 2011 to 2012, he championed inclusive and sustainable development. His tenure oversaw the completion of more than 650 public infrastructure projects—ranging from schools and healthcare centers to market facilities and roads—while also driving forward initiatives in environmental sustainability, HIV/AIDS prevention, and public sector accountability.
